The Boat Journey
Listening to a story about refugees fleeing their country of Syria, I felt compelled to paint this piece. The desperation and anger that must have sped them on, to make the decision, the worry and inconsolability of losing their family and friends. I cannot even begin to know that feeling, but the sadness and emotion that I felt, listening to the story, came out while I was painting, and this is the result.
Gallery wrapped, signed, and ready to hang, this painting is not very large, so would suit being incorporated into a gallery type wall, or as a single painting in a small space. Either way, it exudes vigor and feeling throughout.
